Hacienda de los Santos® Resort and Spa is located just two blocks from the town’s main plaza, the mercado, or marketplace, and the cathedral, which means everything is literally just steps from the front door—no need for a car.
As you enter the antique double doors, the atmosphere is that of a lavish private residence. You’ll be welcomed as a member of the family, with a smile and a cool drink as your luggage is whisked off to your suite. Check-in is effortless, and you’ll soon find yourself strolling around the gardens on your way to grab a bite, browse a magazine on an antique table or pick a novel to accompany your stay from one of the many well-stocked bookcases in the library.
All you really have to do… is relax.
Privacy is one of the ultimate luxuries offered by Hacienda de los Santos® Resort and Spa. Enchanting stone walkways curve throughout the property, inviting guests to indulge in a leisurely stroll amongst the fragrant citrus and exotic foliage. Our beautifully appointed guestrooms, estate suites and villas are set in this oasis, inviting serenity and quiet reflection. Each room is resplendent in Old World charm, many appointed with a breathtaking collection of Spanish Colonial antiques, tiles and artifacts. Mount Alamos provides a striking visual backdrop.
Days are filled with any of the many activities we have available or simply, not much at all. Head to the theater after breakfast for a morning matinee snuggled down on one of the comfortable leather couches, follow up on that back on a lounge chair by the pool, or indulge in that afternoon nap you’ve always wanted. You might also want to take in an interesting chat on architecture, history or the ecosystem of the Sierra Madre, hosted in English by a local expert.
Nightlife follows the easy pace of Alamos. Dinner and drinks can be enjoyed under the arches on cool evenings; most nights accompanied by the sounds of Ramon Alcantar singing romantic ballads, or pick your favorite Tequila from the collection in our revolutionary era cantina. The pristine night sky puts on quite a show in the evenings, which can be enjoyed from the Hacienda’s mirador (observation deck). On special occasions (and we do so enjoy them), we’ll have a party at the Sugar Mill with live music.
Outside the Hacienda walls, mariachi bands liven up the plaza, and the sweet life of a true small Mexican village at its best awaits you…
