Christmas Eve Experience 2012

Alamos for the Christmas Holidays… Why not?

Would you like to celebrate Christmas this year in a really meaningful way? Then Hacienda de los Santos is the place to be. Here, the light shines on the reason for the season: Jesus. Our focus isn’t on gifts, though Santa might drop by with a chocolate or two just for you—and a photo op, of course.

The Christmas Eve Posada begins at 6:30 p.m. with a moonlit walk through the Tacubaya Barrio, or neighborhood, following Mary on a burro with Joseph, begging every home they stop at for posada, or a place to spend the night. It will be easy to feel transported back 2012 years and truly experience what they must have felt.

Lovely Christmas music is played by Los Hacendados, who accompany us on this short journey. Returning to the Hacienda, the big doors will swing open and, indeed, here is a room for the baby to be born…and for you to enjoy. Magic fills the air as our hearts are renewed with this representation of that most Holy Night. Kings, shepherds and angels gather round the baby Jesus, while a beautiful rendition of the Ave Maria is sung to the Virgin Mary, followed by our heartfelt and joyful chorus of Feliz Navidad.

With renewed spirits we will toast our fellow holiday guests with chilled Champagne, and it’s on to Christmas Eve dinner. There is always a communal table for those who wish to make new friends and share the Holiday love. Private seating can also be arranged with table for two or for a group or a family wishing to dine together. Children are always welcome during the Holidays at the Hacienda.

Christmas Day Experience 2012

P.J.’s and Hacienda Robes are the dress code for our Christmas morning buffet in the toasty warm El Agave Café. Yes, no kidding! The Hacienda is your Holiday Home and we celebrate breakfast in comfort. This custom is optional, but it really is lots of fun for those who do participate. Most of us dine around 9:00 a.m., but the buffet is open from 7:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. You are always welcome to sit down at a large round table and join other guests who are looking for fun conversation. Talking about your travels and comparing notes is always a hot topic at the Hacienda. Of course, it’s quite okay to sleep in and enjoy your down-filled comforter along with the crackle of your fireplace…

No morning walk is on the schedule today. This is a great day to enjoy a book or a wonderful treatment in La Dulce Vida Spa. Typical weather is cool in the morning and evening, but warm during the day.

Starting at noon, the Chef will be grilling fillings for tacos on the mesquite wood-burning grill at El Agave Café patio. Have a little or have a lot. There will be salads and ranch beans on the side, with Christmas cookies and fresh fruit kabobs for dessert.

A double-feature movie will be shown in the Hacienda Theater starting at 1:30 p.m. Of course, there will be popcorn and you can get comfy on the sofas up in front. Movie selections are on the board outside of the Theater. (There will be a fifteen-minute break between the films.)

Christmas evening we will join again at the Sugar Mill portal for Christmas Dinner.
Los Hacendados will be playing their customary great music from 6:30 p.m. till 8:30 p.m.
Communal Table will dine at 7:30 p.m.

We usually find this to be a rather mellow, but joyous, evening that brings the Christmas Holidays to a close for most of us. Dress is Casual Elegant.

New Year’s Eve Gala 2012

Come join us for this Celebration of what’s to come…Our repeat business tells us that the Hacienda is “the” place to be on New Year’s Eve if you want a fun time.

Guests dress to “impress themselves.” For some, that may be a Tux, but for other’s a great shirt and a pair of pants. Same goes for the ladies. Go all out, or strut yourself, in what makes you feel beautiful.

Our Celebration begins at 7:30 p.m. with Chef Rene Duarte and his staff going all-out with the “yum and wow factors” in their 6 course dinner and presentation. Rito Valdez is busy designing and creating the ambiance for the evening. The goal is perfection in every way.

The Gala Menu

• Crab Salad in Crisp Wonton Cups
• Warm Mesquite Fire Baked Bolillo with
• Blue Cheese and Chive Compound Butter
• Crisp Variety of Organic Winter Lettuce with a Warm Sweet and Sharp Dressing
• Poblano Chile and Corn Chowder
• Pomegranate and Mint Sorbet

We will dance the night away to the best Disco in the north of Mexico. The group is called “Yuuhahaay.”

They are as much fun as their name and they will have fun favors for us throughout the night. The count-down to the New Year will happen before you know it. If you are not a dancer you will enjoy what’s happening on their Big Screen through-out the evening.
Let’s ring in together a year of prosperity, health and joy for all.
